booking update

Dear Members

Since January we have experienced a succession of faults with electrics, heaters, lights, and showers.
Over the next few weeks we have the following maintenance and repair work being carried out.

27th March 8.00 a.m. until 4.30 p.m. no electricity while a distribution board is replaced.

30th March 8.00 a.m. until 4.30 p.m. scaffolding on court 2 while the heater is repaired

31st March afternoon - our hot water and shower system is being overhauled and hopefully the recurring faults identified and repaired. Provided the electricity supply can be isolated then the courts can still be used.
We are also in the process of seeking quotations for the complete refurbishment of the showers, with new tiling and shower heads. At the same time we will replace the hand driers.

15th 16th 17th May courts closed - the walls are being cleaned, the floors sanded and re-lined.
Although the workmen may complete the tasks by the end of Tuesday 16th May it may take an extra 24 hours for everything to dry.

Locks we are booking a locksmith to overhaul the lock. If it cannot be repaired we will install a new lock.

Decorating - we are obtaining quotes for decorating, plaster repairing etc in the corridor and viewing gallery.

When walking from the car park to the courts please do NOT wear shoes you intend to use on court. Mud is easily picked up on shoes and then forms a fine dust on courts. Grit that is caught in the tread scratches the court floors.
Also please check that the soles of your squash shoes or trainers are non-marking. We have one member who uses black soled shoes on court one and the black marks are all over the floor !!

Lights - if no one is following you on to a court please turn off the lights. If you are leaving the building and you are the last to leave please turn off all changing room and corridor lights.
Last week I met a gas engineer at the club at 9 a.m. and Courts One lights were on, plus the changing room, hallway and corridor lights were on.

Court bookings - please cancel a court booking if you are unable to play. A few members seem to book lots of courts and then fail to turn up.

If anyone is interested in joining our club committee then please let me know. We aim to meet every two months on a Monday evening.
